Private Medical Insurance

If you have private medical insurance please contact your provider prior to attending your appointment, this is to ensure you are covered for that procedure, you may have limits on your policy, or excesses that you would be required to pay.

Your provider will usually issue you with a claim or authorisation number. It is important to bring

both your authorisation number and your membership number to your appointment so we can

invoice the insurer direct. If confirmation of cover cannot be obtained before or on the day of the appointment you will be treated as self-funding and asked to settle the account in full prior to your scan.


If you are choosing to pay for your treatment yourself you can do so by credit card or debit card at the time of your appointment, prior to your scan.

NHS Funded

If you are an NHS funded patient, you will be referred to us via your NHS Trust or CCG. Providing we receive the correct documentation including a valid Purchase Order number, we will contact you directly to make an appointment.

Third Party – Embassies, Employers, Solicitors, Medico Legal

If your examination is being for paid by a third party (e.g. a solicitor, foreign embassy or medico legal company) they will be required to make payment prior to or on the day of your attendance.

It is important to ensure that the third party has either made payment or confirmed payment with a letter of guarantee. If we have not received payment or a letter of guarantee on the day of your attendance you will be treated as self-funding and asked to settle the account in full prior to your scan.

Please note although we will invoice your insurance company or third party directly, it is your responsibility to ensure that claims are processed promptly. Should insurers or guarantors decline or delay payment, you will be invoiced for immediate settlement.


  • If you are unable to attend your appointment due to medical or unforeseen circumstances, please contact the centre at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
  • 50% of the total fee will be charged for cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice.
  • 75% of the total fee will be charged if you do not attend or fail to inform us that you wish to cancel your appointment.
  • 75% of the total fee will remain payable, if you attend but do not complete your scan or request to end your scan early.
